Mournes by Eimear Campbell.
Eimear lives and works in Northern Ireland, originally from County Tyrone and living in Belfast. Growing up in the beautiful Irish countryside she developed a passion for nature and the vibrant colours surrounding her. She now portrays the memories, textures and atmosphere of the rugged Irish landscape and weather through a semi-abstract style of painting.
Her paintings are created using mainly acrylic paints building textured layers of colour. She describes her style as expressive, loose and atmospheric.
Photography coincides with her landscape painting and inspires her creativity. Many of Eimear's landscape paintings are interpretations of her photos from travels and the inspiring Irish landscape.
Eimear’s inspiration comes from the nature and landscape surrounding me. How we interact with it as humans, how being immersed in the beauty and in the powers of nature, particular the forces of our Irish weather, can change how we feel physically and mentally.
Eimear explains "I love adventure, exploring and travel, but I also have an appreciation for my daily humble surroundings and find inspiration around me each day.
Through my artworks I aim to invite viewers to immerse themselves in the textures and movement within the painting. I hope that this will ignite a sense or emotion that reminds them of a certain time or place within their own memory."
